The Promise in the Pillar

Little Prahlada had told his proud father that God is everywhere — in everything. The angry king pointed at a stone pillar and roared, “Is your God in THIS pillar too?” “Yes,” said Prahlada calmly, “he is.”

The king struck the pillar with all his might. With a great sound it split open, and from it came Narasimha — neither fully a man nor a lion — to protect the faithful child.

Prahlada was unharmed, his quiet trust proven true. He had never once doubted that goodness was watching over him.
